不難看出為什麼〈Suffering〉跟〈Different Beast〉在正式發(fā)布前會那麼保密，
因為這其實是段稍微玩弄了觀眾的劇情。
在前一首曲子〈Suffering〉裡，聽眾多少都能察覺這個佩涅洛碧怪怪的，
怎麼會突然出現(xiàn)在海上，又對海洋那麼了解，還一直想叫奧德修斯下水。
雖然在真相揭露的時候大家多少心裡有數(shù)，
不過劇情轉(zhuǎn)折的戲劇性還是做得蠻到位的，
而且前一首〈Suffering〉開頭唱出佩涅洛碧的名字時，
使用的旋律就是EPIC裡常常伴隨危機(jī)劇情出現(xiàn)的「危險動機(jī)」，
暗示什麼的都給得很足夠了。

另外根據(jù)Jorge的設(shè)定，賽壬的歌聲如果完整傳到聽眾的耳朵裡，
賽壬就能取得聽眾的記憶並操控他們(類似某種音波觸手攻擊？)，
但如果聽眾的耳朵被塞住，只能聽到一點點聲音(例如奧德修斯與船員們用蜂蠟塞耳)，
那賽壬取得的記憶就會失真，這也是為什麼在前一首歌裡，
賽壬會以為奧德修斯有個女兒而非兒子。
或許是要顯現(xiàn)奧德修斯的改變，EPIC裡出現(xiàn)他捕捉並殺死賽壬的劇情，
不過《奧德賽》裡的奧德修斯倒是沒這麼幹，
他只是很狂野地表示自己想聽看看賽壬的歌聲，
所以他讓其他船員都在耳朵裡塞了蜂蠟，再讓他們把他綁在船上，以防他被魅惑時會掙扎跳海。
最後路過賽壬棲息地的時候，她們試圖用禁忌的知識引誘他，
雖然奧德修斯確確實實被誘惑了，但一看到他掙扎，歐律洛科斯跟佩里梅德斯立刻把他捆得更緊，
最後大家順利駛離賽壬的領(lǐng)地，無人傷亡。
