對於搖滾，我一般接觸較多的是硬式搖滾，要嘛就是急速奔騰、要嘛就是嘶吼萬歲，總之就是一些充滿力道的曲風，至於輕搖滾雖然鮮少在聽，但其中也有不少讓我大為感動的好歌。這首Can't hold on是「Melee」的「Devils & Angels」專輯中的一首，由主鋼琴所組合的英式搖滾，鋼琴優美的演奏，原本呈現的是單調的色彩，在倏然響起的搖滾與編曲上的高低安排給人從夢境中走出的奇妙感受，使得旋律充滿張力和吸引力。
歌詞中，不斷重複的Can't hold on（堅持到底）正是整首歌的訴求，也是主唱Chris想表達的情懷。前段平穩的表現營造安靜的氣氛，隨著旋律起伏──宏偉的歌聲打破了寂靜震撼著心靈，接著又安靜下來，慢慢使旋律一節一節昇起，最後激昂的情緒響徹整個世界，留下深課的印象。
