The European Commision will tighten its export guidelines on March 24 to prevent an unfair one-way flow of vaccines.
The contract of plant and UK-Swedish firm AstraZeneca approve the vaccines for use in EU. Consequently, when company planed to export 250000 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to Australia, the Italian government blocked the shipment based on the commitment which company needed to comply. European Commission President has called for what she says “reciprocity” in vaccine exports and warned that AstraZeneca could face an export ban.
In addition, EU's leaders will assess the proposals at summit on Thursday.
