背景
諾曼第戰役發生在1944年是第二次世界大戰西方盟軍在歐洲西線戰場發起的一場大規模攻勢，為大君主作戰的一部份。這場戰役在1944年6月6日展開，是迄今為止人類歷史上規模最大的一次海上登陸作戰，近300萬盟軍士兵橫渡英吉利海峽後在法國諾曼第地區登陸。
