--------------------------------------------
Mentality態度
--------------------------------------------
Mentality is sort of obvious. The more attacking a mentality you choose, the greater risks your players will take in their effort to create scoring chances. This will naturally hurt your defense. On the other hand a defensive mentality will make your players be more cautious and will thus strengthen your defense and hurt your offense.
How great a bonus and how big a penalty you suffer from choosing the different mentalities available depends on your "Attacking" and "Defending" manager skills. Attacking affects your attack bonuses and vice versa.
When choosing the extreme settings (eg. the ones starting with a "Very...") the penalty will exceed the bonus you get from the mentality slightly. This represents the fact that going all out on attack or defense hurts the opposing stance so much more.
當選擇"Very..."
------------------------------------------------
Hitting
------------------------------------------------
Choosing to hit the opponent harder will increase your players' defensive game, but also their risk of being thrown into the penalty box by the referee and vice versa.

------------------------------------------------
Counterattack反擊
------------------------------------------------
When you choose 100% counterattack your players will try to surprise and overrun the opposition whenever the opportunity presents itself. Counterattacks can only be started when a team obtains the puck in their own or the neutral zone. Dominant teams will therefore have less use for counterattacking than weaker overmatched teams.

Counterattacking is different from normal attacking play in two very important ways: First of all line bonuses do not apply when counterattacking. This means that the defensive style and side of the opposing team is set aside - they have to survive the counter and nothing else. On top of that counterattacks often isolates players in one-on-one duels on pure speed (aka. the player skill "speed") - something that doesn't happen in "standard" play situations. Players will still deke and pass when counterattacking, but speed plays a significant role.
------------------------------------------------
Special Play
------------------------------------------------
The special play is a rehersed tactic used in powerplay situations and when a team is well established within the opposing team's zone.
The Overload special play focuses on overloading the defense of the opposition creating 3:2 or 2:1 situations through deking, quick passes and loads of skating and criss-crossing.

Crashing the Net consists in slap-shooting the puck and then throwing loads of personnel into the creace to win the rebound or steer the puck into the net. Brutal, but often effective.

The last option is sending a forward, most times the center, Behind the Net in order to create scoring opportunities from this "tricky" position.

------------------------------------------------
Attacking Style
------------------------------------------------
Attacking style lets you decide how your lines should play when they are in possession of the puck.

The lists of key skills belows are weighted. The skills listed first are more important than the ones listed last.

Defencemen後衛
--
All Attacking Styles
Key Offensive Skills: Passing, Puck Control
Defencemen almost always pass the puck - they seldomly engage in deking or other style-specific actions of that kind. The "Key Skills" given for each style below is therefore the key skills for you forwards!

Forwards
--
Balanced綜合
Key Skills: Passing, Deking, Puck Control, Skating, Work Rate, Strength & Pace.
Balanced play is a mix of mostly everything you can think of. Passing, physical play, criss-crossing, dump and chase and deking make up the "balanced" style.

Free Flowing
Key Skills: Passing, Deking, Puck Control, Skating & Work Rate.
When your team utilizes free flowing play they use all the tools in the book, just like in the "balanced" style, but leaves more room for your players to decide how to play. Free flowing play also has a slight emphasis on passing, criss-crossing and deking rather than getting physical or dumping the puck.

Positional
Key Skills: Passing, Positioning, Puck Control.
The positional style is a passing style. Your forwards and defensemen will strive to stay in position and find the little spaces needed to get open and pass the puck quickly. A more static style with greater emphasis on the positioning skill, than the other passing style "combinations".

Criss-cross
Key Skills: Skating, Work Rate, Puck Control.
Hard work, skating and loads of criss-crossing is what makes up the criss-cross style of play. This style emphasises criss-crossing, along with some passing and deking, as the primary way of creating scoring opportunities.

Combinations
Key Skills: Passing, Puck Control, Deking, Skating.
Combinations is a more free form of passing play compared to positional passing. Your player will attempt more dekes and criss-crossing to stir things up.

Physical
Key Skills: Strength, Skating, Puck Control.
The physical attacking style is aimed at getting physical with the opposition; your players will attempt to muscle their way past the opposition and will add some dump and chase plays as well as a few dekes and passes on top for variation.

Deking
Key Skills: Deking, Skating, Puck Control.
Obviously the deking style is all about deking (dribbling, feinting, decoying). Your players will attempt to deke whenever it makes sense and will criss-cross and dump the puck in occasionally to make room for more deking.

Dump and Chase
Key Skills: Pace, Skating, Work Rate, Strength.
The good ol' dump and chase style allows you to challenge the speed, strength and positioning of the opposition, as well as make the most of any physically well-built forwards you have.

--------------------------------------------
Attacking Side
--------------------------------------------
If you want to focus you attacking play in some direction this setting lets you do just that.

--------------------------------------------
Defending Style
--------------------------------------------
Defending style determines the pressure "pattern" of your lines. Who will forecheck, who will backcheck and where will you go after your opponent? This is what defending style is all about.

Defencemen
--
Your defencemen always "backcheck" in TH. If the opposition have the puck in the neutral zone they defend the blue line and if pushed back into their own zone they defend the goal and goalie with all they've got.

Forwards
--
Your forwards do not have fixed roles on defence. These roles are what you define with your choice of defending style. Forwards can either backcheck or forecheck.

Backchecking
--
When backchecking your forwards rely primarily on their checking, hitting and positioning, and secondarily on skating.

Sending a forward backchecking will make life more difficult for the opposing forward, but will allow the opposing defenceman more space with the puck. If you for example send your LW backcheking you cut down space for the opposing RW, but allow the opposing RD more space with the puck.

When backchecking forwards are more likely to get involved in key defensive situations. So before placing forwards backchecking consider their defensive skills and whether you think they can handle the responsibility!

Forechecking
--
When forechecking your forwards rely on their checking, speed, skating and work rate to do a good job.

Sending a forward forechecking will increase pressure on the opposing defenceman, but also leave more space for the opposing forward. If you for example send your RW forechecking the opposing LD will be under pressure, but the opposing LW will be left more 1 on 1 with your RD.

When forechecking your forwards are less likely to get involved in key defensive situations. So placing forwards with bad defensive skills forechecking is probably a good idea.

TOI aka. Time On Ice
--------------------------------------------
TOI lets you decide how much a line can be on the ice. The TOI of your lines is proportional, so when raising the TOI of one line you also change the value of the TOI of all the others.

If all your TOI is set to high, lines will be deployed equally much, depending on your line pairing strategy.

If all your lines have low TOI the Match Engine AI will start substituting them without looking to your line-pairing tactics, but instead trying to give the lines as little ice time as it can.
